Verified track record
A performance history whose numbers can be independently checked, not just claimed.
A verified track record is a trading history where every number can be traced to an independent source, usually the broker that executed the trades. The opposite is a self-reported record: screenshots, spreadsheets, or claims that depend entirely on the honesty of the person making them.
Verification has two parts. First, the data must come from the broker, not the trader. Second, the history must be tamper-evident: once a day is recorded, there has to be a way to prove it was never edited afterward. Platforms differ widely in how strongly they deliver each part.
