A hash chain is a narrow instrument. It answers one question completely and says nothing at all about any other, and a platform that blurs the two is selling something. Both halves, plainly:
It does prove
- Every entry is byte-for-byte what it was when it was sealed.
- No day was inserted, removed or reordered after the fact, because each seal is computed from the one before it.
- Each day's seal covers the whole entry: the equity figure and a fingerprint of the series as it stood that day, so an edit to either breaks the link.
- You reached this conclusion with your own machine. Our servers returned a file and played no part in the verdict.
It does not prove
- That the strategy is any good. A losing record seals exactly as cleanly as a winning one.
- That future results will resemble past ones. Nothing here is a forecast.
- That the first entry was honest. A chain proves nothing was changed after sealing, not that day one was true, which is what linking the brokerage account is for.
- That a strategy trades real money. Paper and funded accounts both seal; the label beside the record is what tells them apart.
