Copy trading on Upstox
With your Upstox account, TrueFills can
Verify your record.
Trades are read from the Upstox account itself and sealed daily into a public chain, so your Upstox trading becomes a track record anyone can check rather than a screenshot anyone can make. It is free, it is what a prop firm asks for, and your money never moves: the connection reads the account and nothing else.
A strategy cannot place orders in your Upstox account yet. Upstox supports a read-only connection, which is the brokerage's side of the integration rather than a setting here.
What the connection can do
reported by Upstox, not by us
Trades are read from the Upstox account itself and sealed daily into a public chain, so a track record built there is checkable by anyone rather than taken on your word.
The connection reports the account as it changes, so a day's trades are sealed the day they happen.
Equities and funds, which is what the strategies here trade.
Upstox currently supports a read-only connection. TrueFills can see the account and its trades, and cannot place an order in it. This is the brokerage's side of the integration, not a setting you can turn on.
Upstox has not published whether it accepts fractional orders, so TrueFills treats it as whole shares only. Whole shares work everywhere; fractional does not.
Being built. It can be connected, and it may be interrupted while the integration is finished.
What you can do today
A read-only connection is worth having on its own, and it is the whole of what Upstox allows today.
Publish a verified record
Connect Upstox read-only and your own trading becomes a broker-sourced record, sealed daily. Free, and it is what a prop firm asks for.
Follow and place by hand
Subscribe to a strategy and take its trades yourself. The record stays checkable either way.
Automate somewhere else
If you want a strategy to trade for you, it has to be an account at a brokerage that supports a trading connection.
Whichever you do, the record behind it is read from the brokerage account that placed the trades, sealed daily into a hash chain published in full, and recomputable in your own browser. Recompute a chain or read how a record is verified.
Questions about Upstox
- Does Upstox allow copy trading?
- Not automatically through TrueFills today. Upstox supports a read-only connection, which means a record held at Upstox can be read and verified, but no order can be placed in the account. You can still follow a strategy and place its trades yourself, and you can publish a verified record of your own Upstox trading.
- Does TrueFills see my Upstox password?
- No. The sign-in happens on Upstox’s own page, and TrueFills receives a connection rather than your credentials. You can revoke it at Upstox or here, independently.
- Where does my money sit?
- In your own Upstox account, throughout. TrueFills never takes custody of funds and cannot move money out of a brokerage account. A trading connection can place orders; it cannot withdraw.
- What does it cost?
- Following a strategy is free during beta once a brokerage account is connected, or $29 a month without one. Listing a strategy and keeping its record is free.
TrueFills is not affiliated with Upstox. Capabilities are reported by the brokerage connection and can change. Trading involves risk of loss, and past performance, live or simulated, does not guarantee future results.
